Solange Knowles x Puma : Girls of Blaze Disc Collection | How I Would Style it

Fashion Fire : Solange Knowles

I have always admired the work of Miss Solange Knowles. Everything she touches screams authenticity, creativity and new age "hipster", in the most broad sense of course. I say this because the term is often misunderstood . The young, quirky yet vintage look she has always catches my eye. Her statement looks always have that WOW factor, that one thing that makes you say "yeahp, that's Solange!". Be it her hair or the colour. She eccentrically makes use of geometric shapes, patterns and African prints. Solange brings the afrocentric vibe of the eighties with a big vintage influence to the 21st century. Solange is my longest standing fashion icon (since my style is always evolving) .

Solange was recently named Art Director and creative consultant for Puma last year November . Her first project being recreating or giving life to Puma's retro Disc Collection. She announced her new position and project on her tumblr page. Solange has done the art direction for all her album cover shoots and music videos so there was no doubt that she was going to kill the Girls Of Blaze disc look book.

In an InStyle interview Solange shares how she drew inspiration from the colour, prints and textiles of Brasil. The Girls Of Blaze Disc Collection Ad campaign oozes vibrancy . It has Miss Knowles' signature bright eccentric colour . It catches the eye which of course is the main aim for any Ad campaign. The clean and simple look of the set and styling draws attention to the new design of the disc sneaker. I absolutely love the femine and vintage look and feel of it.

Outfit Post : The Mom Jean

"Honey check it out you got me mesmerised, with your black hair and your fat ass thighs"

This was my dad's older sisters' Levi Jeans that she passes down to me about five years ago. Of course back then my fashion sense was ignorant and trend dependent . Things have changed , a girl has grown and so has my intrigue and love for all things fashion . I am lover of all forms of expression ( to me, fashion being the most important one ) . I firmly stand by my notion, "if you're not expressing, you're suppressing" . Express because supress causes STRESS ! Lol, I am sure you've caught on to my drift at this point. Anyway, back to my jaas mom jeans, today I decided to pull them out, give myself a beauty mole and a black lip . I felt like I should I should've been at a jam session with Q-Tip and Phife  bopping to that Electric Relaxation nommer (hence the lyrics) , for those of you that are familiar with A Tribe Called Quest !

Anyway, I had fun posing infront of the camera I hope you will appreciate this and Linda, honey .. Listen ! Work those Mom Jeans !

Bless you !
